Tour the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Hi my name is Mike Crowder and I'm a professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. I'd like to welcome you to our department. Let's take a look at some of the facilities that we have for you as students to use while you're at Miami. This room has a number of NMRs nuclear magnetic resonance instruments and EPRs electron paramagnetic resonance instruments. Students will get to use these pieces of equipment to do their undergraduate research and actually to work on real biomedical and also other important science projects while they're at Miami. Our second room that we're looking at is our mass spectrometry center. We have a brand new Orbitrap mass spectrometer that students can use to analyze very complex samples. At Miami we not only have classrooms where we talk about discovery we actually do real discovery in experiments in the laboratory. Thank You very much for visiting our department and going on this brief tour with us. We hope to see you soon.
